Road trip Adelaide/ Melbourne
- La Great Ocean Road :
Five of us leave Adelaide to travel in the South Australia and Victoria. Leny (French guy and owner of one van and one car), Lola (French girl), Kenza (Belgium Girl) and Spencer (American guy). We decide to take the time during the trip and manage the itinerary every day.
Lola made a movie from our road trip (at the end of the page) so I won’t talk too much, however I will give you my feeling about this trip and the major places we saw.
- Salt creek in Coorong :
Several walks are possible where you can see, touch and put your feet on the salt creek.
- Coorong national park :
Amazing peaceful park with sand dunes around the coast and huge beaches.
- Mount Gambier :
Two wonderful things to see in the city. First the blue lake and second the caves. There are few caves but we did the Umpherston Sinkhole and you have to see it.
- Grampians national park :
Mountains in a Victoria, the Grampians propose a lot of spots for the climbers, amazing walks with waterfalls, aboriginal art in caves and also an aboriginal museum close to the town.
- The Great Ocean Road :
For me this “place” is too much touristic. There are several spots where you can stop to see, for example, the 12 apostles or the cape Otway where you can see koalas everywhere around you, but tourists are also everywhere. However the road is splendid and deserve that we drive slowly to enjoy it.
- Great Otway national park :
One of the most beautiful thing I saw in Australia. This park contain huge forests where waterfalls, animals, insects and birds govern. I recommend the free camp “Stevensons falls”. It’s a place where we don’t want to leave and where you can see the platypus close to the river.
